Copyright Essentials

What is your reaction to the word COPYRIGHT? Fear? Boredom? Irritation? Incomprehension? Anxiety?

All of these are understandable but quite unnecessary says Copyright expert Graham Cornish, who will lead GI’s Copyright Essentials seminar on 22nd April. This practical and participative seminar is suitable for those new to copyright or looking for a refresher or update following the Gower Review. There will be plenty of opportunity to raise questions and for discussion. Graham will illustrate how copyright applies to original works, protects the rights of authors and applies to electronic media including databases, websites and hyperlinks. The role of electronic rights management systems will also be considered and there will be an opportunity to review recent/proposed changes to copyright law.
